How often have we heard, at many clubs, sell their best player for loads of cash and we can get a few more in to make us better as a team/squad.

How often has this worked? Ever?!

If you take £38m for him, there is a chance you'd get the modern equivalent of Camara, Song and Dailly as replacements.

I'm no way saying that Bilic would spunk the money as badly as Redknapp did the Rio money, the evidence points to the opposite.

It's just that there's always that risk. Also, I reckon the chances are any replacements wouldn't galvanise the fans as Payet somehow has. That doesn't happen often.

In short, Payet must be kept.

you do realise that it's widely considered that we literally stole him for 12m? and that he should have gone for 20m at the time? Even at 30m I can't think of a player we could easily replace him with.

sell him for £20m, are you off your head?

and spend that £20m on what as a replacement? He's our talisman now and even if he has the odd off game, he's gotta stay. he can easily contribute at this level for the next 4 years.

Re: Chinese club bid £38M for Payet
he was poor last night but still got an assist for the winner and hit the post.
he is a marked man now, having lanzini back will help as he has the confidence to carry the ball fowards as well.

looks like he is just trying to do too much at the moment.

Re: Chinese club bid £38M for Payet
He's very talented but I'm nor sure if the pace and constant aggression of the prem is a bit out of his league. Could be that he's a marked man now because of his impact this season but he's not showing much during games and its concerning.

Anything over 20m should be accepted for him, he's 28 and may not improve as much as we 1st thought. He made a huge impact for us, seems like a decent lad, and seems to like the club, but he may not be as consistently good as we need long term and if there's a big sale available I don't think we'd miss him that much.

But it's about opinions after all

I'm not for being a selling club. £38 million you say! Where do we sign?

I'd take 38M for him.

Re: Chinese club bid £38M for Payet
Payet is easily our best player but his form seems rather sporadic. I thought he was our worst player last night. Effort was there but nothing really went right for him. 38 million for the man sure is tempting.

Selling Payet to these cunts would send out the wrong MSG.

Snap hand off

£38m for a 29 year old who is out of form?

Daylight robbery.

Accept and then buy a new striker, a new midfielder and a new right back.

West Ham where we sing his name, or China, where they can't even pronounce it.

No brainer.

We need to refuse ALL bids. If we accept any bid at all we will send him the message and he will be off within the PL on the basis that we were 'willing to let him go'...

Yea maybe every player has his price but you can't make him leave especially for China.
